678 Youth Club 2014-2015

To all St. Rene School and Religious Education (CCD) 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Students (and parents/guardians) for the 2014-2015 school year.

We are planning another exciting year for the children. Some of the activities include dances, community service projects, game nights and field trips.

Our club is a self-supported organization and relies on member fees to substantiate our activities. Member/chaperones will also encounter field trip costs throughout the year.

Further details will be given to you and explained at our first meeting/sign up night tentatively set for Friday, September 19th 2014 from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. One parent must attend our first meeting with their child.   

This year we are going to try doing this all electronically, with emails being sent out for all meetings and field trips, where you will have to vote if your child will attend the in-house meetings and the field trips. In the past we have spent too much money on food for in-houses, never really knowing how many kids would attend. So we are going to try it this way. Registration will be completed using Survey Monkey, which can be done online or at the first meeting. We would appreciate it, if you could fill the form out online, will save us and yourselves a lot of time at the first meeting. In this form you are giving your child permission to attend field trips. This will also be a signed release for pictures to be taken of them. The website for registration is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/StRene678.

Parents of members will be responsible for chaperoning at least one field trip and one Friday night meeting (siblings are not allowed to attend events with you). All volunteers must be Virtus trained.  Not only will we appreciate your assistance, your child will enjoy your presence. Children will also be expected to help out and volunteer at all functions where the Club is sponsoring an event, community service project, and/or fund raiser. We will meet two (2) Fridays a month. A tentative schedule will be handed out at the first meeting, dates and field trips can be changed at any time.

Activities will be safe, fun and educational and consistently monitored by Board Members and/or parent chaperones. Our Board Members for the 2014-2015 school year are as follows:
