Service Hours

Volunteer Information

The volunteers at St. Rene are truly the mortar in the bricks that keep this faith and learning community together.  Without the dedication of each person’s time and talents we would not be able to function as a community.  It is why our volunteers are vital to the existence of the school and parish.

Each St. Rene School Family is required to do 10 service hours within the school and parish in a variety of capacity.  Some examples include but not limited to:

  • Helping with lunch duty

  • Classroom Helper

  • October Fest

  • Book Fair

  • Super Bingo/Raffle

  • Other School/Parish events

In addition, 2 shifts for the annual carnival are also required; the carnival is scheduled for the end of June each year.**

Since the Carnival will be a major fundraiser for the school and the parish, each school family is required to work a minimum of two, six hour shifts at the Carnival.  The shifts will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.  Families who do not complete their required shifts will be charged $100.00 per shift.  are also REQUIRED to contribute at least an additional 10 hours of participation to the school and/or parish community.  Families who do not complete the remaining required hours by March 31, 2014 will be charged a Participation Program fee of $10.00 per hour for those hours not completed.  This fee must be paid prior to the issuance of any report cards and/or transfers.

As always, your time and talent you share with us is much appreciated and valued.
