Great News of First Grade – Week of January 26, 2015

Dear Families,

This week we celebrate Catholic Schools Week with several various activities.  A list was sent home on Friday listing daily activities.  The entire week is dress down for students.  To help you plan, I have listed some reminders:

Wednesday is Pajama Dress Down Day.  Please do not send children to school in slippers, flip flops, or footed pajamas for safety purposes.

Friday is Superhero Dress Down Day.  Please do not send masks or weapons to school for safety purposes.

On Wednesday, January 28 grandparents or special friends are invited to join their first grader and enjoy a light refreshment in the school hall at 9:00 a.m.  After refreshments, the children will return to class and our regular schedule will resume.  Please have your grandparent/special friend sign in at the school office.  The children will be called to the office so they can be escorted to the school hall.

Our School Talent Show will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the school hall.  Come and see the amazing talents of our students.

Finally, a school Open House will be held on Sunday, February 1 from 10:30-12:30 p.m.

Our weekly spelling test will be on Friday.  The spelling words are:  leaf, eat, read, teach, seat, sea, tea, an, which, each.  Thank you for helping your child study for his/her spelling test.

Thank you for your help and support, both are greatly appreciated.  Have a wonderful week.
