Good News of 3rd Grade: Week of March 29th

Tuesday: Gym

Wednesday: Mass

Thursday: Dismissal 1:30 P.M. (no extended day)

Friday: No school – Good Friday


Here is a look at the tentative schedule:


Religion: We will continue to discuss Lent, Holy Week, and Easter; attend Mass, and take a QUIZ THURSDAY.


Handwriting: We will write in cursive in our daily work and homework.


Spelling: We will take a pretest, do in-class work and games, have homework Monday and Tuesday, and take a TEST THURSDAY.


Phonics: We will learn about homographs, have homework Monday, review, and take a TEST WEDNESDAY.


Reading: We will read mini stories, Scholastic Magazine, and work on Haiku poems. We wrote a few last week together and did an amazing job!


English: We will complete D.O.L (Daily Oral Language). We will review adjectives and adverbs, have homework Monday, and take a TEST WEDNESDAY.


Math: We will do math minutes in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will work on multiples of 10 and multiplication patterns. Students should be practicing multiplication and division flashcards Tuesday, Thursday, and one day on the weekend. The log sheet is due every Tuesday filled in and signed by a parent.


Social Studies: We will practice our map and globe skills. We will also read, discuss, and complete activities on leveled readers about the Seneca Falls Convention and women’s rights.


Science: We will read, discuss, and answer questions about living things, and compare/contrast plant and animal cells.
