Good News of 3rd Grade: Week of March 15th

Tuesday: Gym

Thursday: Mass

Friday: Welcome SPRING!


Here is a look at the tentative schedule:


Religion: We will continue to discuss Lent, focus on Holy Week, review steps for reconciliation, and attend Mass.


Handwriting: We will review all cursive letters through writing lists of various topics such as planets, months, numbers, etc…


Spelling: We will take a pretest, do in-class work and games, have homework Monday and Wednesday, and take a TEST FRIDAY.


Phonics: We will begin the next unit and focus on synonyms and antonyms.


Reading: We will reread and review the story Seven Spools of Thread, take a TEST WEDNESDAY, and begin the next theme about unique talents.


English: We will complete D.O.L (Daily Oral Language). We will begin the next chapter about adjectives and adverbs. There will be homework Tuesday and Wednesday.


Math: We will begin the next chapter about division of facts 6 –12. There will be homework Tuesday and Thursday. Students should be practicing multiplication and division flashcards Tuesday, Thursday, and one day on the weekend. The log sheet is due every Tuesday filled in and signed by a parent.


Social Studies: We will read, discuss, and complete activities with leveled readers about rebuilding New Orleans.


Science: We will learn, compare, and contrast the life cycles of animals and plants.
