Fourth Grade – Week of 3/2/2015

Welcome to Terra Nova Testing Week. Students in grades 3 through 7 will be participating in the
testing this week. We are asking that all children bring in water bottles and snacks to help keep
them focused during testing. We also ask that students have some kind of breakfast before coming
to school. Also as the temperature varies throughout the day students should wear layers so they can
remain comfortable.

All testing will take place in the morning. Specials will take place in the afternoon
and we will spend our afternoons with reading, math, English, and science. No spelling unit this week.
All students in 4th grade have been given instructions for using TenMarks an online math program that
integrates with what we are doing in the classroom. Homework assignments are given each week and must
be completed by the deadline. I still have several students who are not using this software. Please
check with your student and make sure they are utilizing this software package. There is a jam session
feature that allows them to practice all skills. Thanks!

Report cards for second trimester will go home on Friday. I will be requesting conferences with some
parents – notes will be going home this Wednesday. We will be at mass on Friday for an all school mass
as it is the first Friday of the month. Friday is NOT a dress down day. Enjoy the week, Karen Healy.

This weeks work:
Religion – students will continue work on the Jesus timeline as time permits. Friday is mass.
Reading – students will continue work with our novel – George Washington’s Socks.
English – students will work on creating poetry booklet of their poems.
Math – we will continue our work with measurement and review multiplication and division.
