Clubs

St Rene School offers a variety of after school activities. Here are a few of our Clubs and programs. Contact the school for details

 

Yearbook Club – The Yearbook Club meets twice monthly on Monday afternoons and is responsible for producing the yearbook  which will be available for all students at the end of the school year. Students in grades 4 – 8 are able to join this club.

Service Club – The Service Club meets twice monthly on Thursday afternoons and is dedicated to looking for ways to serve our school, parish and community and bring Jesus’  love to those in need. Students in grades 5 -8 are able to join this club. 

Meeting Time: Twice monthly on Thursdays 3:00-3:30
Grades: 5 – 8

Puzzle Club - Children in grades 1-3 will work together to complete a variety of puzzles ranging in size and degree of challenge.  Have fun exploring color and pattern configurations while building logic and thinking skills. Puzzle Club’s objective is to provide opportunities to solve problems in a supportive environment as well as to increase students’ awareness and confidence in their abilities to problem solve.


Meeting Time: Tuesdays 3:00-3:30, January 7 – Febuary 18
Grades: 1-3 — limit of 16 participants.
Faculty advisors: Mrs. Toomey, Mrs. Kolpek

 

 

Chess Club - Chess Club meets every Tuesday from 3:00-3:30pm.  We pair up and play matches from week to week, honing our skills and strategies, and just enjoying the camaraderie of others who also enjoy playing the game.

Grades: 6 – 8
Faculty advisor: Mr. Velon

 

 
Authors’ Club – The students will write stories in the computer lab, illustrate their work, and bind their work into books. Upon completion, the books will be kept in the school library and may be read by all St. Rene students. The club members may also visit classrooms to share their work.

Grades: 4-8

Homework Club - Students may sign up for this club and get help with their homework in any subject.  It is one on one help.  This help is given in a quiet atmosphere so that every student can concentrate and do his best.  It is very a good opportunity to do their homework
